In the background of this miniature is the castle of King Charles V (1364-1380), that was built in 1360.
Unfortunately this castle no longer exists today, but it was the Louvre of its time. This was an impressive castle with a defensive outer wall and a large palace. This historical records of the times, are the real value of the Limbourg's work.
