Saint Armel
Written and researched by Margaret Odrowaz-Sypniewska, B.F.A.

Armel was the cousin of Samson of Dol. He was a famous dragon tamer and worker of miraculous cures. Many French hospitals bear his name because of this.

In 1485 (933 years after Armel's death), Henry Tudor (later King Henry VII) launched an invasion of England, from Brittany, and claimed to have been saved from shipwreck through Armel's Divine intercession.

His feast day is August 7th.
