  • The most common Polish surnames in Warsaw, Poland; are: Dabrowski, Kaminski, Kowalski, Nowak, Szymanski, Wisniewski, and Zielinski.

  • In 1619, Poles in Jamestown held the first civil liberty protest in America. This was because they were not allowed to vote in colony matters, because they were not of British descent.

  • Approximately 1000 Poles served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
