The Mentkowski Family

The Family of Joseph Thomas Mentkowski, Sr.:

Joseph Thmas Mentkowski, Sr. was married to Kathyrn ("Peg") McCullum. Joseph was a high ranking army officer and live for many years (10) in Germany. His children were:

1. Susan Mentkowski - married and had two children: Lisa and Tommy.
2. Judith Mentkowski - never married
3. Joseph Thomas Mentkowski, Jr.was born in Ohio and grew up in Pennsylvania. Later on, in the 1960's they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Joseph worked for the city of Phoenix until his death.

   Joseph married Kathryn Starr and after 23 years of marriage they divorced. Joseph and Kathyrn had one daughter, Rhianna Mentkowski.

I found other Mentkowskis in Wisconsin and Arizona. I do not as yet know how these Mentkowskis relate (if at all) to my husband's family. However, they seem to have many lawyers in their branch.

I found the following:
1. Charles W. Mentkowski, Professor Emeritus on the internet at: Marquette University Law School. Charles W. Mentkowski is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association and the Milwaukee Bar Association. He was an Associate Dean for 25 years.

2. Marcia Mentkowski of Alverno College, Pennsylvania has co-authored a book called
   Ability-Based Learning and Judicial Education: An Approach to Ongoing Professional Development. This book was recorded in the SJI News in the winter of 1998, Volume 9, November 4th (Arizona quarterly publication of the State Justice Institute about grants to improve the quality of justice in State Courts).
   Learning That Lasts: Integrating Learning and Development, and Performance in College and Beyond Published in San Francisco by Jossey-Bass in 2004. This book also is co-authored by her and her associates.

   James C. Mentkowski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a relative (?) of Timothy F. Mentkowski (?) His office is at 111 East Wisconsin Avenue.

   Timothy F. Mentkowski belongs to the law firm of Crivello Carlson & Mentkowski S.C. at 710 North Plankinton Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is their Vice-President with over 29 years of courtroom experience. Their law firm was rated as one of the Top Law Forms in 2004.

Another Mentkowski I found in New York. He is Aaron Mentkowski. Aaron anchors for channel 7 News in Buffalo. He grew up in North Tonawanda, where he graduated from high school. He attended the University of Buffalo and SUNY Ostego where he earned his BS in Meteorology. Aaron is a member of the American Meteorological Society. He also teaches Aviation Meteorology in JCC North college. He is married to Sharon (nee Osorio) Mentkowski, a Freelance writer/copy editor/translator and Anchor and Reporter on WKBW-TV 7. They have two (2) boys: Robbie Mentkowski (the eldest) and Jacob Mentkowski.

Another Mentkowski connection is from an obituary for is Louise (nee Bokol) Dorszynaki, who died on January 27, 2000 (at age 82). Louise was buried in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetary. Her funeral services were held at St. Cecilia Congregational Church in Thiensville. Louise's husband was Stanley Dorszynski.

Their children are:
1. Terry Dorszynski who married Bill Corrigan
2. Ron Dorszynski who married Susan ?
3. Tony Dorszynski
4. Herb Dorszynski

Stanley Dorszynaki's siblings are:
• Marie Dorszynski married Harry Mentkowski.

• Julius Dorsynski
• Jack Dorszynski married Reenie ?

Louise's siblings were: her brother Anton Bokol (wife named Betty).
