The Anderson Clan

Anderson means "son of Andrew." The cult of St. Andrews, was introduced into Scotland in the early middle ages. Anderson, in its early form, was Androsoun, then changed to Andrewson, then Anderson.

There are the Andersons of: (1) Dowhill (2) of Wester Ardbreck in Banffshire, and (3) Candaering in Strathdon.
