About Us...

The Theta Iota chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma at the University of Michigan-Flint, is proud of its heritage, being the first non-secretarian sorority, meaning we were the first sorority not to judge a woman on her religion, racial background and economic standing. We are a very active sorority that believes in a balance of social with sisterhood, philanthropy with academics. The Phi Sigs are proud to also have the highest GPA among the Greeks at U of M-Flint, showing that we take our studies very seriously. We believe in a unique bond through sisterhood, believing that every woman has something special about her, and can bring something to our group. What sets a sorority apart from other clubs and activities during your college years? In addition to having a social, leadership, an service opportunities, our members enjoy a sense of belonging and family. As a part of this sorority you will make life-long friendships while you grow as an individual.

We are very active on our campus, participating in Greek Week, compitions through CPB (Campus Programming Board), working with the Women's Center, as well as social/philanthropic gahters with the U of M-Flint and Kettering fraternities and sororities. Some personal activities of our chapter include National Kidney Foundation activies and fundraisers, Soldier Awareness Week, the Clothesline, Rock-a-Thon, bottle drives, Detroit Zoo Walk, as well as fun sisterhoods like karaoke, group dinners, spa parties, putt putt golf, Date Night, and our own Sapphire Ball.

Phi Sigma Sigma is an international organization with chapters all over the United States and Canada. We strive for three goals: Life, Leadership, and Learning. We want to show that we can go beyond the typical stereotype of sorority girls, showing that our members of all different backgrounds, age ranges and interests, can work together and have enjoyable experiances, that will make joining Phi Sigma Sigma the best choice they'll ever make.

Please look around our site, and check our our calendar of events. We'd love for you to join us, so feel free to contact us at thetaiota@phisigmasigma.org if you'd like more information.
