I started riding motorcycles in 1972 , on a 1967 Triumph Trail Trophy 500 . I moved up to a Yamaha TX 650 the next year and got my first BMW ,a R100T in 1980 .I have put 300,000 miles on BMW motorcycles sense then .I have road BMW motorcycles from the Atlantic to the Pacific , from the Golf of Mexico to Alaska ( twice ) . By chance I met a member of the club in 1981 at a swap meet , they told me there award Banquet was that night and that I shod go , so I did . just showed up at the door and said here I am . There were over 100 people there and they all were friendly . I joined shortly after that . My wife April is one of the original members of the club , and we were married in 1988 . We had our wedding in one of our friends / members back yard , they were our Best man & Maid of honor .After the ceremony ,We got in our sidecar bike and rode a around town , with Best man & Maid of honor in thier sidecar bike behind us followed by most of the club on their motorcycles .
