About Me... |
My name is Jessica. My family consists of my parents Neil and Jeanne and my brother, Derek, who is 24. I was born in Niles, Michigan and have lived all but two years of my life in Three Oaks, Michigan. I grew up in a very small town and knew nearly every person I graduated with at River Valley High School in 1999. I am currently attending Western Michigan University where I am a member of the College of Education. I am working towards my Elementary Education degree. It seems that as far back as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher; from the days of playing school in the toy room to my cadet teaching my senior year in High School. I am currently intern teaching at Chime Elementary School in Kalamazoo Public Schools. I am very excited to finally be in the classroom and put to use everything I have learned. Dancing has always been an important part of my life. I began dancing in the third grade taking tap and jazz lessons at the Sawyer Dance Academy. In eighth grade I joined the Sawyer Dance Troupe, which is a competition group that travels to various competitions. While I was a member of the troupe we attended two National Dance Competitions in which we did very well. In eighth grade I also began assisting in several dance classes. I no longer dance but am still a teacher at the Sawyer Dance Academy and have worked with children from three to seventy-three years of age. |
