Arch Duke Xog, "Krikk, I have two tasks I need for you to perform."
"What would you have me do, my liege?"
"First, I need for you gather the pages of a Tome belonging to our Herophants. It's pieces are strewn throughout Kunark."
Realitivly vague instructions, to say the least. Under the floor I was standing on was the training hall for Shamans, one of which was my friend, Tsaer. He said he'd come with me to track down the pages of the tome, and to help me with the more important task, which he must have forseen.
The two of us first went to the ruins of Kaesora. Inside, Tsaer found a Failed Crypt Raider, who he was certain held one of the pages. The two of us dispatched him, and he did indeed possess one of the pages.
Next, we traveled through the Emerald Jungle and found the lost City of Mist, once a great Iksar Stronghold. Within, the Spectral Couriers held many important documents, including three of our pages we needed. The fights were hard, but we had found four pages.
For the first time in either of our lives, we left the lands of Kunark in search of the last two pages, which we were told were stolen by the dark scribers of Mistmoore. With great caution, Tsaer and I made our way to Faydwer, among the less dangerous continents. We stayed in the woods of the Faydark that night.
Tsaer told me he had a dream about a wheithered, dark god and a golden-haired Goddess, and the conflict between them. Im not going to lie, I dreamt about the Bixie-berry pie I always made back in Cabilis.
The next day, Tsaer and I found the entrance to Mistmoore, a decaying realm of Darkelves and Undead. Tsaer, in a trance-like state, led the way into the castke, where with great stealth, we killed both the libriarian of darkness, and his assistant. Within their possesions, we found the last pages of the missing tome.
"Very good job, Krikk. You've found the pages. However, the Tome has lost it's once great power, which fed the rites of Venril Sathir himself. Find Argest, the lost Crusader. The Shamans feel he is captured within the lair of our wretched Goblin foes, deep underground. He will be able to provide you with the means. Do this, and you will be among the Lords, Krikk."
Tsaer had already been making preporations. We left as soon as possible, and through the Frontier Mountains, found the lair of the Goblins known only as Droga. Inside, we fell to the area below, so far undetected. The prison area was dimly lit, and I could make out a mound behind numerous cages that I believed to be one of our Brood.
Suddenly, the Goblins had spotted us, and we fought as many of the festering prison guards we could. To our luck, they had many of the keys to the prison, so we made our way into Argest's cell.
"I hadn't thought I'd see a friendly face again...you found me." Argest could hardly talk, bur he forced his words through his pain. "Take this, Krikk. It goes in that machine that the goblins use got their scripts."
He mumbled something else before lapsing back into his previous state. Tsaer and I looked at the machine he had spoken of, and there were slots for pages to fit. After placing the object Agrest gave us in with the Tome pages, we stood and watched. Iksar-skin wove itself over the pages, and bound them as a tome. It now felt like it possesed an unearthly power, and Tsaer and I left.
Arch Duke Xog was pleased to say the least, and he rewarded me with the Khukri of a Lord of Pain.
