Pinochle League Tournament Rules:

1) Tournament Directors use caps only 1 hour prior to tournament and during tournament
to recruit players, to advertise tournament and to run the tournament.

2) Players will not use caps.

3) Players will not use abusive, foul or obscene language that is grounds for automatic
disqualification and respect the Tournament Director at all times.

4) The Tournament Directors decisions are final.

5) All Tables must be protected when matches begin. Visiting tables is allowed in all leagues
if all players agree to it and the visitors do not engage in conversation and NO KIBITZING.

6) Absolutely no private messages between partners or visitors. If caught, this is cause for
immediate disqualification.

7) 10-minute (15-minute boot rule is for tournaments that have an entry fee of 500
BananaBux or more) rule on boots/MIA begins when player notifies the Tournament Director
and the Tournament Director acknowledges the player. Time is run consecutively and does
not begin over each time they are disconnected. 15- minute boot rule is for tournaments that
have an entry fee of 500 BananaBux or more.

8) Players are not allowed to play in other games while in tournament play. Players are
automatically disqualified when caught playing other games during a tournament. If a player
has started a game before the tournament has officially started, then they have 10 minutes
(15 minutes for tourneys with entry fee of 500 Bux or greater) to get out of that game before
reporting to the tournament game. Any time used will count towards their boot time. Players
may not start a non-tournament game 15 minutes prior to the official start of the tournament.
NO EXCEPTIONS!

9) Player’s not listed first round have a bye. BYE = Automatic advancement to Round 2.
You will begin play in round two.

10) Check in begins 30 minutes before the tournament starts.

11) Left player invites the right player. In partner tournaments the Left Captain
invites the right team.

No bickering in the Lobby. If you have a good compliment or complaint, forward it to

Sub Rules

There are tournaments that require partners. Everyone pays to play and everyone should get
their chance to play. Here is the rule for tournament matches when one person is missing
because of a time out or a disqualification:

Sub Rule for Tournament Games Requiring Partners If someone is disqualified for any
reason, I will get a sub. We are allowing subs so that the partner that did not get dq'ed
does not get penalized. The subs will not receive bux for subbing. In addition, if the sub
gets the dq'ed player into bux rounds, those bux are not truly earned and a debit will
need to be done to reverse that transaction, but if they have made it to the bux round
on their OWN before being dq'ed they will get to keep their EARNED amount. There
will be NO skipping of hands. The first one to volunteer to sub will be the sub
The player does NOT get to pick their sub. That would be contrary to the way a
tournament is run. They do not pick in the tournament, they do not get to pick their sub.

(a) Call the TD to the table to start a timer (10 minutes for tournaments 0-499 bux
and 15 minutes for tournaments over 500 bux).

(b) Players who were disqualified for disrespect or disruption of tourney, or who timed
out, will not be allowed to sub in that tourney. In nonregulation games hands will
be skipped four times

If you time out or are DQ's before a money round your buxxs will be taken from your
account. If you dq or time out during a money round you will keep your EARNED
bux. If questions then ask your td.

Players that accidently set tables wrong in tournament play will not be penalized for it.
If your rules call for UNRATED and the player sets the table wrong, it is the responsibility
of their opponents to not start the match and have the table reset to unrated.
BUT, if the match is started already then the match will be played out as RATED.
