Michael Hickman: A Soldier's Thanksgiving Day Prayer

I am sitting outside my tent this evening
And as I look at the stars in the sky
I can not help but think of the family back home
...And tears slowly fall from my eye

Will all the folks back home be remembering me?
Will they think of me as they carve that big bird?
Will they bow their heads this Thanksgiving,
And say a prayer after the news they have heard?

Will they pray for a peace to this country?
Will they ask God to help these people understand?l
Will they be willing to say a prayer for their freedom,
Something we seem to take for granted in our own homeland.

Will they thank God they have a house to live in?
Will they thank him for the food that they eat?
Will they remember to thank God for the clothes they wear?
Cause over here many have nothing on their own feet.

Will the families of those who have been taken
Be remembered in prayer and an imaginary hug,
Will the sorrow of losing a son or daughter
Be enough to give someone's heart a big tug.

You see, I am just one of those fellow soldiers
Who stood up when his division was called;
And I like so many others before me
had to share the news of my duty to a family that bawled.

But I am here fighting for our nation's freedom
To bring a freedom and a peace to this country as well;
And I can tell you that being in a war doing battle
Is more like I am living in the middle of hell.

But I still remembered that today is Thanksgiving
I bowed my head and thanked the Lord for what I had.
I asked him to watch over my homeland
And give a special watchfulness over my mom and my dad.

So on this evening as the stars shine so brightly
Can you maybe bow your head for a moment for me?
Ask God to help keep us strong here.
And ask him to help us forever keep America free.

And when you bless your turkey and all of the trimmings
Remember to say a quick and simple prayer.
Just ask God to bless all the brave soldiers
Who are fighting for our freedom no matter where.

Islamic atrocity

Yes, Of Course, Build an Anti-American Mosque

On the heels of statements made by liberals suggesting that the Ground Zero Mosque is not the effort of radical Muslims, Imam Rauf makes an anti-American statement. He says that America has more blood on it's hands than does radical Islam. This is the message that Imam Rauf, the leader of the movement to build the mosque near the site of the 9/11 attack, has to give to New York Muslims and Muslims throughout the world. From this we are to gather that the new mosque will be a positive impetus in New York and in America.

It has also been stated that investigation into the source of funding for the mosque is unfair and illegal even though the developers for the mosque have stated publicly that Iran will not be excluded from making contributions. Is that what we need, more controversy with Iran when Obama has just put pressure on Israel to halt plans for an attack on the new Iranian nuclear project?

Islam continues to incite anti-Islamic sentiments in Americans and in its followers throughout the world and Rauf is no exception, obviously. Have we forgotten that it was a Muslim organization that bombed New York and thereby started war against radical Islam? Do the leaders of Islam think that now with American military forces withdrawing from their positions in the Mid-East that we will be appeased by a wolf in sheep's clothing trying to sneak into the sheep pen once again and carry away victims of Islamic deception? By claiming he is at odds against Muslim leaders elsewhere in the world and then issuing anti-American statements here at home, Rauf is continuing the assault on the intelligence of Americans everywhere by trying to make us believe that his mosque will be a "good thing".

Are we supposed to fold up and go home (we are home) when Muslims are continuing their assault against America even in the very pit of their own offense? Are we supposed to forget that Islam is a major offender against human rights throughout the world? Are we supposed to forget that the beast Islam has called us "Satan" even as it continues to accomplish its exploits in various places in the world and thus fulfill prophesy? I hope Islam doesn't forget that it made a devout enemy out of me after I made a statement to my own country. I challenged our tightening of the border with Canada by crossing without a passport and then publishing the story. I foolishly thought that the time had come to relax our stance against threats from outside our borders. The truth is that even diligence against foreign intrusion by human rights violators isn't enough to halt the enemy within. It is a lesson I will never forget. It is a lesson of truth that we must never forgive evil itself regardless of its source.

It was a Japanese officer who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor that said his country had only succeeded in "waking a sleeping giant" by attacking Pearl. But New York is the "pearl of great price" which Islam will continue to pay for many years to come.

NEWS BYTE - "Faster" starring Duwayne Johnson | Duwayne is world class in every respect. I would like, not only, to see this film but also to see the face-off with him and Vin Diesel in starring roles. Hell, I'd like to see Johnson play Triple-X and Vin Diesel play in "Standing Tall", but that's another story.
