Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation(r)

Many scientific studies now affirm that all forms of Tai Chi are significantly beneficial for people of all ages and abilities. Studies have determined that Tai Chi increases flexibility, balance, and cardiorespiratory function, and that Tai Chi is twice as effective as any other method for preventing falls. Dr. Paul Lam, a physician and Tai Chi Grandmaster, has adapted and developed this form from the "Sun Style", working with the medical experts of the Arthritis Foundation(r). "Sun Style" is characterized by higher stances, less bending, and agile steps. This program is endorsed by the medical staff of thr Arthritis Foundation(r), approved for persons with all types of arthritis, including Fybromyalgia and Osteoporosis. Gary P. is certified to teach this adapted Sun Style form at Level I and Level II by the Arthritis Foundation. One 12-week study of "Sun Style" showed that osteoarthritis patients perceived significantly less pain and stiffness. Those patients showed significant improvement in balance, abdominal musle strength, and performed better physical functioning at the completion of the course.
