One type of millitary robot is on the ground it's called the talon. It's designed specifically for public safety, fire and rescue organizations. They are manned by a remote control joy stick. This make sure the controler can stay away from the danger but still can help. It can clear a building without going in there blind.
The purpose-built MAARSTM chassis provides a uni-body frame with easier battery and electronics accessibility. Other features include a larger payload bay, higher torque, creating faster ground speeds and improved braking. The new Digital Control Unit (DCU)significantly improves command and control and situational awareness for the operator resulting in greater safety margins. The complete system weighs about 350 pounds.

Another type of military robots are UAV's(unmanned aerial vehicles) they are unmanned airplanes. Its small enough so it can't be picked up by radar but big enough that it can carry 14 missiles at one time. The UAV semi-active laser guidance with a GPS targeting system, for accuracy and reliability of payload efficiency.
Tactical UAV : Designed to support tactical commanders with near-real-time imagery intelligence at ranges up to 200 kilometers. Outrider Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) program terminated. Material solution for TUAV requirements is being pursued through a competive acquisition process with goal of contract award in december 1999.
