A powered exoskeleton is a powered mobile machine consisting primarily of a skeleton-like framework worn by a person and a power supply that supplies at least part of the activation-energy for limb movement.

You have all seen the exoskeletons of the future. From the classic Iron Man to the video game legend of Master Chief. These legends are classic examples of where this technology is headed in the future. Being able to run faster, jumper higher and maybe even fly can soon be reached with the technology of today. For example, Stephen Jacobsen from Salt Lake City, Utah, is an inventor of an exoskeleton that has caught the eye of the US military. His 150 pound XOS exoskeleton can easily lift 200 pound weights over hundreds of times without causing any strain to the human controlling the suit.
