RAMMS+EIN Introduction.
Officially formed in 1994 by lead guitarrist Richard, the German band RAMMS+EIN has certainly made its mark on the music world. Boasting a dual guiotar force combined with pulsing bass riffs and drumb leads, the industrial music produced by RAMMS+EIN is some to be metled with. Their first album, Herzeleid, debuted in 1995 (only in Europe). Herzeleid featured such songs as Seemann, Du Riechst so Gut, Heirate Mich, and the ever-popular Rammstein (Heirate Mich and Rammstein were featured in David Lynch's film, Lost Highway. David Lynch also directed some of the group's videos). This album exposed the group to all sorts of critisim, like them being Neo-Nazis and the like. Several single albums were released after Herzeleid. Their second album, Sehnsucht, was released in 1997 world-wide and brought with it an international re-release of the album Herzeleid in 1998 (due to great publicity from the groups first American live shows in New York and Los Angelas). Sehnsucht featured the songs Tier, Engel, DU HAST, and Bück Dich. Later, in 1999, DU HAST was recognized be several awards, mostly sponsored by MTV divisions, and is largely credited with making RAMMS+EIN known in North America for the first time. More singles followed. Later, in 1998, the group released a live-recording album of their largest and most successful concert to date, at Parkbühne Wuhlheide in Berlin on August 23-24. Following its release came VHS and DVD video recordings of the concert in stores. RAMMS+EIN's third and latest album, Mutter, was released in 2001 and featured the songs Links 234, Sonne, Ich Will, and Mutter. After the release of it came a full North American touring season as well as an additional international tour. Currently, the group's makings are quite unknown, or they simply are not doing much but spending time in Europe.

1. Q: What is rammstein German for?
A: The word ramstein can be translated literally into ramming stone in English, although the band never intended to me refered to as ramming stone. The band's actual name, RAMMS+EIN, is that of town and air base in Germany (although only spelt with one m). Their song, Rammstein, is based upon an air force show incident that happenned there many years ago in which many people were killed (about 80 people).

2. Q: What does DU HAST really mean?
A: Du hast is the du-conjugated form of the German verb haben meaning to have in English. People can easily get confused because the phrase du hasst means you hate in German; although it's spelt slightly differently it is pronounced the same. Furthermore, there's a published English Version of the German song DU HAST, where the lyrics are not the literal translation of the original song, and they sing, "YOU/YOU HATE/YOU HATE ME" over and over. The same theme is also applied in the song Engel, where the lyrics have, once again, been twisted into a completely new song in English. The song Du Hast has been responsible for much of the media punishment done to RAMMS+EIN.

3. Q: I have a song from Napster (or something else) that says it's by RAMMS+EIN, but it's not listed in your albums list. Is it real?
A: No, the song you're talking about is not by RAMMS+EIN. This happens quite often with other German bands in America and even in German-speaking countries as well. To see a complete list of songs released by RAMMS+EIN, go
here.

4. Q: Where can I find out more about the members?
A: I can't tell you much, but I do have pictures and birthdates on my
members list page. If you have questions you can always email me.

5. Q: Are RAMMS+EIN gay?
A: No, they all pursue very heterosexual relationships as of now. When they published Herzeleid, Richard said that it was all about them breaking up with girlfriends or wives and had to do a lot with love or the loss of love.

6. Q: Who sings the chorus in Engel? Is she in anything else?
A: The female vice in Engel is by a women named Bobo (short for Bobolina), who is "in Richard's family more indirectly", Whatever that means. Bobo only appears in Sehnsucht once, in Engel, but she does background voices in the song Nebel from the new album Mutter.

7. Q: Why is Bück Dich censored?
A: During that song, Till the vocalist straps on a large rubber dildo that sprays a gooey liquid all over the croud, stage, and keyboardist Flake. This puts the performance deep within the "censored" category, and even got Till and Flake arrested in LA when the first performed it there.

8. Q: When will RAMMS+EIN's next concert be? When will they come to my town?
A: I can't tell you when they'll come to your town, but they might come to a place near to you. But alas, I'm too lazy to keep up with this kind of news, so I'll send you to
herzeleid.com's tour section, they have places and dates.

9. Q: Are RAMMS+EIN Nazis?
A: No they are not. As far as I hear, all this about them being Nazis started with their album photo for Herzeleid, the one with the big, orange flower in the backdrop (which can be viewed
here). Reporters and analysits said, "they think they're part of the master race" because they're all blown-haired, blue-eyed men, something that is obvioussly not true as clearly only half of them have brown hair. This report required Ramms+ein to go for a new cover picture (which can be viewed here). If you are in the US, you will only see the old one in stores.

10. Q: Who, from Ramms+ein, can speak English?
A: I know for sure that Till, Christoph, Flake, Paul, and Richard can, which leaves only Oliver who cannot. But I may be wrong and he may also be able to speak English.

11. Q: What goes on during Bück Dich?
A: During Bück Dich, Til the vocalist uses a rubber dildo that squirts a gooey liquid all over the stage, and sometimes all over the keyboardist Flake. It is considered "censorable material" and is not included on the DVD of the Parkbühne Wuhlheide concert.

12. Q: What are some links to other Ramms+ein sites?
A: Go
here.
