Visual Intelligence

Spatial intelligence or "The Visualizer" is the ability to form and manipulate mental representations of large space or circumscribed space. These individuals have a good visual memory and are able to recognize a shape when it appears in a new context. They have the ability to orient themselves in a home or outdoors.

• Sensitive to color
• Enjoys mazes, jigsaw puzzles
• Often uses a camera to record events around them
• Likes to draw and doodle
• Finds his way in unfamiliar territory
• Watch movies, play with machines, daydream
• Good at reading maps and charts

The spatial intelligence individual may find a career as a navigator, pilot, chess player, anatonomist, geometrist, sculptor, painter, architect, graphic or industrial designer, lighting specialist or inventor.

Students may enjoy using or doing programs that paint and draw, graphic programs, mazes, puzzles, maps, charts, diagramming, multimedia, sculpt, create films, slides, videos, and build models. Mind maps, imagery, imagination, pretending and color schemes are other key words for this intelligence.This intelligence is activated when a person uses mental imagery to accomplish something.

• study a picture and list the object in the picture without reference to it
• study a picture and describe what lies just outside the scope of the picture
• develop a mind-map for a given area of study.
• develop a highly visual presentation for a given area of study.
