I am not convinced that my account is not being shut on grounds of religious discrimination. I would like to contest the decision to close my account and get a better answer than "just because". Regardless of what the TOS says, Federal Law prohibits some reasons and I would like to know exactly what's going on. 07/09/2012 13:28 - Jonathan (JHusk) Jonathan Forced Account Closure Tom, Thank you for your response regarding Brinkster's decision to terminate your promotional hosting account. If the company is categorically eliminating all accounts that are founded on brinkster.com domain then that's something else. I still see that free hosting packages are on offer, however. http://www.brinkster.com/freepkglanding.aspx So it's not like this is a dissociation of Brinkster with customer sites. It's a dissociation of Brinkster with MY site, which is worrisome and specifically why I phrased my question as I did. Is the nature of my complaint genuinely understood here? Has anyone attempted to ask about this? I don't need the form letter I received to be rephrased or bolded. Tom, Yes, we understand your question and concern and answer it with. Brinkster does not want the trademarked, corporate domain of brinkster.com to be associated to your website. I apologize, but no additional details or explanation will be given outside of this. It's XXXXXXXXXX, per the details on my account. So there would be no objection then if it showed up as a new sign up for the free package offering X.brinkster.net - http://X.brinkster.net as the domain name or is it just going to get canceled? This very much matters. Jonathan Forced Account Closure XXXXXXXXXXXX, I apologize for the miscommunication of your name. The issue is with the relation of your website with the Brinkster name. Our promotional "free" plans do not have use of custom domain names and all use the Brinkster name. You are free to pay for hosting and your own custom name; however, we do not want our name associated to the content on your website.
