WRESTLING
Howdy
Big update folks. It's been about two months since I last checked-in, so here goes. I recently lost the MMWA's Marquee title to Chris Sabin in late-September, and I am not looking for a rematch. Why, you ask? Because in my opinion, I am not an X-Division kinda guy. Sure, I could fly around the ring all day long, but the name of the game is wrestling, and nobody wrestles better than I. Instead, I'm setting my sights on the MMWA Heavyweight title, working in the main events where I belong.
Speaking of main events, I am still the IWR Champion, and The THREAT is still going strong. I am undefeated in my string of open challenges to the entire IWR locker room. After kicking Breyer Wellington out of the group, we are looking for a new member to dominate the Detroit indy circuit. It will be a few months before we decide on just who joins this elite group.
Still on the subject of main events, THE MAIN EVENT is scheduled for Nov. 14th at the Detroit World Outreach (DWO). Ted DiBiase, Shawn Michaels, & Sting are scheduled to be there, and I have been asked to referee the main event. If you remember, I have worked with Ted before, and I had a great time working with him, Sting, and the Road Warriors. It's different seeing wrestling in a church atmosphere, but the whole point is to tell people about Jesus Christ and how much of an impact He has had on the wrestlers lives. I am proud to be associated with this great event.
On Oct. 22nd I went down to Nashville to take a booking with NWA TNA. Gutter tagged along and so did the "multi-talented" Brian Gorie. We met up with Dave Prazak and Nate Webb at Chris Hero's WrestleHouse and crashed there in the middle of the night. I didn't know who I was working until I read the line-up when I got there. It turned out it would be me and Breyer Wellington versus C.M. Punk & Julio Dinero for the Xplosion show. We ate at the world famous White Trash Cafe and I got to see some friends I hadn't heard from in a while.
The match was good, Xplosion matches are usually under 5 minutes so things kinda get rushed in there. I sprained my shoulder a bit, but it's feeling pretty good now. That's the one thing about some of the workers out there now, they sometimes rush things when under pressure. I say, slow down and enjoy your ring time. That way, no one gets hurt, and you can tell a better story. All in all my second TNA experience was a positive one.
I took the wife out for her birthday, which also happened to be Sweetest day, which also happened to be an MMWA show day. Oops, sorry, family comes before wrestling sometimes. I had a quality match-up with Jimmy Jacobs a while back as well, and also turned up at another AWWL TV taping. I worked with Monty Brown for the first time this past weekend, and I enjoyed it very much. The "Alpha Male" is turning out to be one of my favorite wrestlers to watch these days. Well, as I sit here sipping my venti non-fat light whip white mocha from Starbucks, I must bid you farewell. Take care my Little N8sters!
God bless,
-N8 Mattson

Hi everybody,
Thanks for stopping by the website. I've been keeping busy every week here on the indy circuit. Let me take you back a few weeks now. In early August, the IWR returned for the second year in a row to the Van's Warped Tour, this time held at the Pontiac Silverdome. I defeated Gutter in one match, and Stevie Lee later in the night. The following week, I attended Ring Of Honor in Dayton, OH. A few of my pals worked the show, such as Chris Sabin, Jimmy Jacobs, and Alex Shelley. All three did a tremendous job, and the crowd was way into the whole show. Then it was off to Cadillac, MI for a dose of the MMWA. I wrestled Sabin for my Marquee Division championship, and went over with the M-80 after about 20 minutes of non-stop action.
The following week, WWE SmackDown! came to the Joe Louis arena, where my buddy Zach Gowen hooked me up with a complimentary ticket. Zach put on a great show with Brock Lesnar, and was nearly crippled by a couple of vicious powerbombs. Zach got all bloody, it was great! Earlier in the night, fellow journeyman Truth Martini had a dark match with Mortis that pumped up the hot, Detroit crowd. A few days later, a was in a tournament to decide a who was the best in the Great lakes. I defeated Breyer Wellington in the first round, but couldn't get past Stevie Lee this time around. Stevie Lee went on to defeat Sabin in the finals with a powerbomb through a table.
After that, Eddie Venom and I wrestled Truth and Irish Ed Eamon in a match that almost started a riot during the Hamtramckfest. Police and security got involved, but everything turned out alright in the end. After that, it was off to Jackson where I lost to Gutter where we fought outside in the rain. The highlight of the night was when I got to see my old friend "Hard Time" Gene Austin since he moved to Florida. Gene helped me out a lot when I broke in this business, so I owe him many thanks.
Recently, I showed up at the AWWL tv tapings and got to work SABU for the first time in my 7-year career. The match itself was only about 8 minutes because Sabu's arm was injured, but it felt really good to be in there with a true veteran and legend in our sport. It has been confirmed that Bryer Wellington & myself will be returning to NWA TNA on October 22. Not sure if it's another Xplosion match or not, but I'm still excited about it nonetheless. That's it for this month, I'll keep you posted if anything big comes up.
God bless always,
N8 Mattson

Now,
Hey Kidz,
:I know it's been a while but I've been up to my ears with things I have been doing. So you guys want to hear about "The Real" N8 Mattson... well you might want to ask him. Hehe, I kid, well he's been wrestling a lot of shows these last couple weeks, or even months. TNA was a big hit for him, we hope to see him on more of the shows! As you all know N8 is not the Heavyweight Champion of the IWR. Losing his King of the Indy's title was hard but winning something even better, priceless, but this makes his ego big. He defended it agaisnt Mr. Insainty. Well moving on, the Vans Warp tour was a huge success, well I think. Warming up was fun, I mean how often do you get to see N8 Mattson beat up by a clown. He fought in two matches at the warp tour. Both hit head and N8 cheated his way up to the top with both wins. Can't he win a match by himself... Yeah I think, but it's so much easier the other way why bother. Well sorry thats all the info for now, tomorrow should be a little more, till then, laters
I'm Trying!

Now,
Hey Kidz,
:This past week I worked a dark match for NWA TNA against my good buddy Chris Sabin. The X-division Champion and myself put on another classic, that will air on this weeks main event for Xplosion. I enjoyed meeting everyone and hope to return as soon as they'll have me.
nbsp:I also recently attended a seminar with Ohio Valley Wrestling. The trainer of the camp was Rip Rogers, who hopefully liked my work. I enjoyed talking to Rob Conway, one of their best workers. OVW's style is very traditional, so I should fit right in there. That's about it for now, I'll keep you posted on when I return to either one of these fine promotions. Until then, check out the huge main event for the upcoming IWR show. THE THREAT (Breyer Wellington, Truth Martini, Anthony Rivera, & myself) against Elvis Elliott, KOI Champion Jimmy Jacobs, TNA X Champion Sabin, and the returning AJ STYLES! What a dream match if there ever was one, and the IWR is the only place to see it. Check out www.PWRhotline.com for more info. I can't wait!
God bless,
 :N8
How's everything going? We're bringing AJ styles back, pretty cool, huh?
Poptart: Yeah this should be one to see, The Threat of the IWR vs the IWR with A.J. Styles, whats not to like... sorry for not updating in a while i hope to do it more often, i do have idea's it's just hard to get them done.
N8's got some fanz to check this out,
Sup, N8. A bunch of us up in the Twin Cities are following your career, you

Been A While,
Hey Kidz,
N8 Mattson here with another exciting edition of N8 News. Last week I returned to my old stomping grounds of XICW (Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling) and lost to Frankie The Face. Frankie has stepped up his game a bit, and we put on a little wrestling clinic that saw FTF walk away the victor after a choke-bomb.
A few short days ago I made my debut for W.A.R. (Wrestling And Respect) in Lima, OH. I have heard positive things about this promotion that drew around 500-600 fans with virtually no "big" names on the card. I tagged up with Jimmy Jacobs and Appollo Starr to take on Truth Martini, Alex Shelley, and Buddy Hanlon in a 6-man tag. There was a long runway that connected the stage entrance to the ring, so I thought I'd take advantage of it. When Jimmy Jacobs was backdropped over the top, I caught him, and after a running start from the runway, I catapulted Jimmy over the top rope, where he was able to double-dropkick Truth & Shelley. I think it was the loudest pop of the night. I eventually went over on Buddy with my Mattson Jam (top rope legdrop). On a side note, Chris Sabin and Chad Collyer, two of the very best out there today, had a very solid match with Sabin on top.
A funny thing happened after the show when we went to grab a bite to eat. Truth Martini was out in the parking lot when Sabin and Shelley decided to go mess with him. After a mini-fight in the parking lot, Alex Shelley backdropped Sabin through Truth Martini's back windshield of his car! Glass was everywhere and no one could believe what had just took place. Thankfully nobody was hurt and there was a car wash close by so the glass was all cleaned up before the night was over. Overall, a very enjoyable road trip to good ol' Lima.
This week I'll be taking on Gutter over in Westland for Great Lakes Wrestling (GLW). We are ranked in their Top 5 contenders to the GLW Heavyweight title, so I plan on pulling out all the stops in that match. Gutter is a great opponent who I enjoy working with, so I'm really looking forward to this one.
The following week, "The Season" starts over in Max Pro on May 30th. You can see guys like me, Sabin, Truth, Eric Young and so on every Friday @ Livonia Mall. I can't wait to see who I'm paired up with. In a straight-up wrestling encounter, there's nobody better than yours truly, and I'm geeked to see how other workers will fair in this environment. Good times all around, yee-haw!
That's about it for now kiddies. Hopefully you can all make it out to GLW and MXPW in the coming weeks, I look forward to seeing you there. In the mean time, take care and God bless always...
-N8 MATTSON
Hey there N8-Fanatics,
Thanx for checking out the site. The Webmaster Tony has been hard at work coming up with a new, updated look and he has assured me that everyone will dig it once it's completed. The main order of business today is my decision to drop the "Amazing" nickname. Part of it has something to do with the coverage that the Amazing Red has received over the last few months, and even though I've been using the name for almost 7 years now, I thought it was time for a change.
Okay, with that out of the way, let's get onto some of my matches. I've had an interesting couple of weeks. A few weeks back I had a really good match with Chris Sabin at MXPW, too bad the crowd wasn't there. After wrestling each other more than a dozen times, that one seemed to be right on the money. Sabin went over with his Chickenwing Piledriver and successfully defended his MXPW Unified TV title. The following week, I returned to MXPW to tag up with "Danger Boy" Derek Wylde to take on Ruffy Silverstein & Trent Steele. I enjoyed working with Ruffy, who was a graduate of the Hart Family's Dungeon in CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA (as Lance Storm would say), but I think Trent needs more experience when he's on the mat. Wylde teases his new finisher, The 1350 (?1?) but instead I hit the M-80 on Trent for the win.
The next day is IWR, and as Tony mentioned, I lost my King of the Independents championship in a fatal 4-way with Elvis Elliott, Chris Sabin, and Jimmy Jacobs, my former Tag-Team partner who pinned me in the match. Jimmy has improved his game so much over the last year, and has really made a name for himself in the Great Lakes as well as the Midwest. He reminds me of myself when I first started out, maybe that's why I like the little goof. His work is very solid and he really understands the logic that goes into making a great match. I look forward to locking up with him again in the near future.
Speaking of "The Future", I wrestled Sabin in another singles match for GLAPW this past weekend and it was a ton of fun. We were both heels, but since our opponents "no-showed", we were forced to wrestle each other. A great back and forth match with some good false finishes, which leads to another loss to the dreaded Chickenwing Piledriver. What can I say, Sabin's going places. With his work on NWA TNA, his match at the Super 8, his upcoming WWA tour, he has received a great deal of exposure lately. If anyone deserves it, Sabin does. As his friend and former mentor, I want to see Sabin reach his goals. He improves in every match, and he truly enjoys what he's doing.
Next week (May 3)I'll be with New Era Pro Wrestling near Cleveland, OH facing Carlton Kaz. Then the week after that (May 10) it's Wrestling And Respect (W.A.R.) in Lima, OH. I'll be featured in a huge cruiserweight gauntlet match with a who's who of Michigan indy stars: Chris Sabin, Truth Martini, Jimmy Jacobs, and Alex shelley, to name a few. I'm really looking forward to that one. I'll be making my return to GLW on May 17 to face Gutter, and then "The Season" starts on May 30 at MXPW and continues every Friday for several weeks. If you can make it to any of these shows, please come up and say hello. That's all for now, check out the pic of me legdropping AJ Styles! Until next time...
God bless,
-N8 MATTSON

As all of you are aware our N8 has lost the title to "Fuzzy Boots", "Jumpin" Jimmy Jocobs. If your like me your sad, and kinda happy. I guess this gives N8 something new to cry about in the story of the IWR. Sorry for not updating a lot fans of N8, I've been cought up in rough times, so as for now, I should be updating N8's page weekly, or so I hope. Ok the low down is, N8 is not the KOTI for the IWR and he has a new tattoo(but its been there for a while), he recovered to a hundred %, and his work is good. So besides the upset of losing the IWR King of the Indy's title, everything is going smooth and good. I guess thats it for now, Tell us what you think about N8 loosing the Title to Jimmy Jacobs, E-mail us...

There have been some major developments in the past few weeks. Just weeks after recovering from surgery to repair a hernia in my lower abdomen, I am having some really good matches with top-notch wrestlers. At the last IWR show, Elvis Elliot got the DQ win over me when Bubba McKenzie purposefully interfered in my match, just so I could hold onto my King of the Indies championship in a nice, story-telling match. This past Friday night, I returned to Maximum Pro-Wrestling as a surprise element to the main event featuring Truth Martini & Midwest indy great Colt Cabana. This match was to determine a #1 contender to Chris Sabin's MXPW Unified TV title, while the champion was busy preparing for this year's ECWA Super 8 tournament.
I cut a promo stating how I helped Sabin get his start in the business, and if anyone was going to take him out, it would be me! This being the first time I worked with Colt (more on him later), plus the fact that this match was booked on the fly, it turned out great. After a fast-paced 15 minutes, I defeated Truth to become to #1 contender. The match is signed and will take place this coming Friday at the Max Pro Arena in Livonia Mall, N8 vs. Sabin, with the TV title on the line!
Then the following evening, I again met Colt Cabana in another 3-way dance, this time with Nate "Spyder" Webb. This match took place in Marion, MI in front of a huge, responsive crowd for the Mid-Michigan Wrestling Association (MMWA). I defeated Spyder with my patented finisher, the M-80, and fell short to Cabana's Colt 45 backbreaker a few minutes later. Great guys to work with, I enjoyed the production and the atmosphere of the MMWA.
I'm looking forward to my match with Sabin this week, he always seems to bring out the best in me. That's all for now, God bless.

Here's a little update on yours truly, "The Amazing One", N8
Mattson. I'm feeling better since my surgery 3 weeks ago, I should be
cleared by the next IWR show in Sterling Heights on March 29th. My
scheduled opponent is Elvis Elliott, and it's a rematch from the "Brawl 4
Braxton" event. Elvis has finally earned his shot at the IWR KOI
title, and I look forward to defending MY belt. I have some pent-up
frustration from sitting on the sidelines, so Elliott better be ready, cause
I'll be looking for a fight.
The following week I'll be in Cadillac, MI for an upcoming MMWA show.
I'll be making my debut there, so I plan on stealing the show. I'm also
looking forward to working for Maximum Pro-Wrestling, as they will be running
shows every Friday at the MaxPro Arena in Livonia Mall. I believe this is
the start of their TV tapings, so you can all look forward to seeing my
beautiful face in your living rooms!
I'll be featured in an interview by squaredcirclenews.com
that I just completed, so look for that as well. Check out the new photo
in the pics section to view my Marquee Heavyweight championship. That's
about all for now, see ya next time!

A lot has gone on in the world of the "Amazing One", so I'll get right down to it. At the "Brawl For Braxton" event which benefitted the Dingess family on their tragic loss, I defeated "The Dark Omen" Elvis Elliot in a non-title match for my IWR King of the Independent's championship. It was a solid back and forth match, and I think we could really get into a good program in the future.
Just last week we were scheduled to face each other once again in Sterling Heights, but a severe snowstorm prevented Elvis from making it. As a last minute substitution, the bookers of the IWR thought it would be funny to force me to defend my title against my friend and Threat brother, the IWR Heavyweight Champion "The Next" Breyer Wellington in a title unification match.
Now everyone knows that The Threat works as a team, as we have worked hard to grab all the gold there is. You see, the bookers were trying to cause dissension in the ranks of The Threat, to try and break us up. Well, we got news for you, it ain't gonna happen. So Breyer & I laid it all out on the line, title vs. title, champion against champion.
Breyer and I have known each other for about 6 years, and our styles are a bit similiar. We both can mat-wrestle, we both can fly. We know what the other is thinking in that ring. That's why The Threat is so strong. We respect each other. On this night, we both wanted that top spot, but eventually ended up pinning each other's shoulders to the mat. The match is declared a draw, and we congratulate the other on a fine match. No arguing, no bickering, just plain RESPECT for two of Michigan's best. You see, The Threat is not just a clique of wrestlers, we're a brotherhood. Breyer and Rivera are long-time friends. Truth Martini and I go way back. Fear The Threat, because there's nowhere to hide!
On a personal note, I will be out of action for the month of March due to a recent surgery. I should only be out 4 weeks, but I plan on causing a lot of trouble at a couple of shows! That's all for now, take care and stay warm!
By far, my toughest opponent ever...
This past weekend I had the opportunity to work with one of the best
wrestlers the independent circuit has to offer these days as I took on AJ
Styles from NWA-TNA. I was looking forward to the match for a number of
reasons, one being the fact that AJ was the first TNA X-Division champion, and
I wanted to test my skills against someone of AJ's caliber. The match
overall was a success (with only a few glitches) and I feel that we told a
fairly good story. It was a pretty physical contest because I'm really
beat up. Styles is definitely a world class athlete and a true
professional. Hopefully we can hook it up again somewhere down the road,
because I know next time will be much better. The finish of the match
came when AJ pinned me for the IWR King of the Indy's title after the Styles
Clash, only to have "Playboy" Bubba McKenzie interfere on my behalf,
and restart the match due to a contract stipulation. As AJ went to lift
me for another Styles Clash, I hauled off and whacked him in the face with the
belt (Again, my apologies) and fell on top of a bloody Styles for the pin and
the championship. You're winner, and 2-time IWR King of the Indy's,
"Amazing" N8 Mattson!
Mon, 20 Jan 2003
This past weekend, "Amazing" N8 Mattson traveled to Grand
Rapids, MI to take on "The Future" Chris Sabin & Truth Martini
in a 3-Way dance for the Marquee Wrestling World Heavyweight title.
After 15 minutes of innovative spots and high-impact moves, Amazing N8 caught
Sabin with his patented finisher, the M-80, to become the first ever Marquee
World Champion!
In just 5 short days, N8 prepares to take on one of his biggest
challenges to date, as he defends his IWR King of the Indy's title against AJ
Styles. Then on Feb. 1st, N8 will be taking on Elvis Elliot at St.
Andrew's Hall, @ "The Brawl For Braxton"! Come out and enjoy a
great night of action, and feel good knowing that all proceeds are going
straight to the Dingess family through the Yukon Braxton Foundation! To
learn more, click on the Yukon
Braxton Memorial link .
Amazing N8 has been very active on the indy circuit as of late, folks. A
few short weeks ago, N8 travelled to Indiana for a Battle of the Nates, as
"The Amazing One" took on "Spyder" Nate Webb for IWA
Mid-South. Just recently, N8 made his long-awaited debut for Great Lakes
Wrestling, taking on Elvis Elliott in a classic match-up. This week N8
travels to Grand Rapids to take aim at the Marquee Wrestling Championship belt
that is currently vacant. Then, it's off to Max Pro to take on long-time
nemesis CK3. After that, N8 defends his IWR King of the Indy's title
against NWA/TNA star AJ Styles in what many are calling a "Dream
Match". But beware, wherever Amazing N8 goes, The THREAT is sure to
follow!
And all through the Hizzy
The Kenn-izzles were waiting to see
MC GetBuzy
The Kenne-Pals were nestled all snug in
Their chairs,
While visions of the “Chump Change” danced through the air
Showtune’s announced as the music commenced
Old Money Old School Greenwhich, CT Represent
And I in My Fly Rag, And I-Diggity in his Furry Cap
Were Eyeing up some honeys for after I win the Strap
Then what to my wondering Eyes does appear
But a Fat Tattooed Douch Bag and Four Threat-A-Teers!
His Hair was greased back, His Shirt was so smelly
Who else could it be but Boobie Mackenzie?!
In the corner they huddled, and plotted and schemeed,
Then Boobie let out a boisterous Scream
“On Andy Rodriegez, Show em whos got the Brass!”
Until I-Diggity cold-####ed his A$$!
“On Honest Martinez!!!” as he bounded and leaped
But then Justin Toxicated Layed him out in a heap
The Next was Willington “Go on Bri-Bri Kick Their Butts!”
But he started to cry-cry, as 3KC hit his nuts,
Last and yes least Amusing Nick He stood firm
Boobie Mackenzie then started to Squirm
“Get em Amusing Nick! Show them who’s Indy’s King!!!”
But then CK3 Put his a$$ in a sling!
And alone stood Boobie, all Fresh out of friends
With a look on his face like he took a dump in his depends
He scurried to the back so as to not seal his fate
And as he ran his a$$ giggled like Blowfish trying to mate
The Kennizzles arose and pushed the roof with such clatter
And is it me or could boobie possibly get any fatter?
The Kennizzles united as we fought the good fight
A Conrad Christmas to all!
And a Kennizzle Good Night!!
Amazing N8 Mattson was voted IWR Wrestler Of The Year 2002 by the fans at http://www.PWRHotline.com
Thanksgiving night, The THREAT crashed the
Bump-N-Uglies record release party in downtown Detroit. I did the Max
Pro show on Friday, that went well. Saturday I met Virgil/Vincent and we
talked for a good hour about the Business. December looks to be a busy
month. I am working Breyer Wellington in Hamtramck on Friday for a Toys
For Tots benefit. Sunday is XICW. The following week is IWR.
The week after that is another benefit where I'm in a 3-way dance with Sabin
and Truth. Then the next week I'm in Bay City for GLAPW. That's
about it for this month. Try to stay warm man, it's c-o-l-d out there!
When the match finally came to a start the crowd was
chanting, "Threat Sucks!" and the match had started. It flowed very
well and went back in forth. There were chants of, "IWR, IWR, IWR!,",
"Threat Sucks!", "Gavin Starr," and much more. In the end
moments, it went IWR, Threat, IWR, Threat, IWR, Threat, and the last two
people were "Amazing" N8 and Brimstone. But unfortunately Brimstone
surprised N8 and got the advantage. It ended with N8 getting a chokeslam and
Brimstone and the IWR getting the win. N8 rolled out and laid on the while the
IWR stood tall.
