The Missing Persons' Cold Case Network (MPCCN): Volunteer-Maintained Database of Long-Term Missing Persons from the United States

Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, it pains Meaghan and me to announce that the MPCCN is no more. The entire Web site and database have been hacked and are beyond repair. The majority of case files should remain operable until our date of cessation -- Monday, March 8 at 12:00 AM ET. It's simply impossible to allow the files to remain online and therefore exposed for an extended duration. If you've saved the direct URLs to the files, they are operable. Publicity of the cases has since expired and they can no longer be accessed from the main page.

The MPCCN cannot be password-protected; it is a public site and to do so would defeat its purpose. Please understand that everything has been saved offline and may or may not be restored at some point in time. Please do not e-mail inquiring as to a timeline or to comment on the situation. We will not respond due to the sensitivity of the issue.

Meaghan and I have been honored to work on this site. I developed it in early 2001 and she has been in charge of the database for 14 months. I think everyone will agree that Meaghan has done an extraordinary job. It was an honor to publish nearly 3900 cases and work with families, law enforcement and other volunteers. Please understand we have done everything possible to work through the horrible, criminal trespassing that's occurred on this site and its files. Unfortunately, some people are above the law and some problems lack solutions.

For now.

It is with heavy hearts that we bid adieu. Hopefully, we will return someday soon.

With thanks,
Jennifer Marra and Meaghan Good
