Logical Intelligence

The logical/mathematical intelligence or "The Questioner" has the ability to think conceptually, to reason in an orderly fashion, investigate relationships in the physical world through experiments, explore abstract relationships in the worlds of logic, computers and mathematics. Also, called the "scientific thinking" because of the strength in formal thinking, reasoning, estimating, fascination with patterns and operations. Howard Gardner has stated in an interview that "this type of person really traffics in the bits of logical mathematical intelligence." This type of intelligence is the most understood intelligence. It is usually associated with linguistic intelligence that is used on the popular IQ test. This intelligence is normally tested in multiple choice questions on standardized tests where our ability to mentally process logical problems and equations.

Some traits-

The mathematical/logical person may have an occupation as a magician, mathematician, accountant, scientist, bank teller, engineer, computer programmer, philosophers, baseball statistician.

Famous People:

Students may enjoy using the following: calculators, puzzles, science kits, brain teasers, math manipulatives, database & spreadsheet programs, strategy games, symbols, outlines, or graphic organizers.

Keywords include symbols, outlining, graphic organizers, number sequences, calculations, codes, concept relationships, syllogisms, problem-solving, and patterns. This intelligence is activated in problem-solving and or challenging situations.
