WOW! It has been a long time since I have updated this. I am a very busy person these days attending school full-time. In August I will graduate with my Bachelors of Businesss Administration in Marketing. I waited a long time to go back to college because I was not sure I could keep up with the younger generation. Imagine my surprise when I consistently ended up on the Dean's List or President's List. When I am not on layoff, I also work third shift, full-time. The schedule is gueling and exhausting, but it will be worth it in the end.
My favorite pages are the ones I dedicated to my Mom whom I loved very much. I have not looked at them in a long time and just took the time to read them. It still brings tears to my eyes to read about these things and see the pictures I have posted. Feel free to check them out.
My niece Rosie helped me build a page for children. She was six when we built it and is now 18. Boy how time does fly!!
I am deeply involved with the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) Kidney Walk. It is directly related to my mother and honoring her memory in the best way that I can. I serve on the planning committee every year and even did my internship with them. I am working hard to help grow the walk and get members of the community involved. In addition to being on the committee, I am a Team Captain with my own team; we call ourselves the Kidney Beanz. We are always looking for sponsors who would like to give to a worthy cause. If you or someone you love has been touched by high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney disease, or kidney transplant, and would like to do something in their memory, you can donate directly from my fundraising page, it has been recently updated for the 2011 walk season. I have many hobbies and interests which I enjoy very much, but have very little time for. I enjoy reading, fishing, gardening, knitting and crafts in general. Other intrests include scrapbooking, cooking and soap making which is my newest interest. I am also a Nature freak, so camping is at the top of the list of my favorite things as well as a beautiful sunset, a quiet walk along a deserted beach, and a quiet, peaceful walk in the woods.
My daughter Autumn is now eight years old and still amazing me often with the things she comes up with. She was a much welcome surprise late in life and I would be lost without her. She is a bundle of energy, willful and stuborn. Some say she is very much like me. She is a very bright young lady, but many people do not see it because she is also a Selective Mute. It is very challenging and frustrating much of the time, but I would not change who she is for anything!! One day, I may take the time to put up some pages and links on Selective Mutism. Sadly, my mother never met my daughter because I was five and a half months pregnant when Mom passed away.
I have come to realize that life is too short to sweat the small stuff and that we should enjoy life while we still have the time.
