Peanut Butter Kisses

Cream together:
1/2 c. Butter (1 stick)
1/2 c. Shortening
1 c. Sugar (granulated)
1 c. Brown sugar

Mix with:
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Peanut butter

Sift together and add:
3 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt

Mix thoroughly. Roll in walnut size balls and bake at 325 degrees F. till firm. Press chocolate kisses into center of each baked cookie and let stand until chocolate is firm.

Note: Chocolate kisses are, of course, optional. With the tremendous variety of candies available today you could substitute your favorite to personalize these great tasting yummies!
