Vaughn,"I like the fact that everybody gets ribbons!"

Kyle'"It was a fun experience again to take 1st place in the long jump!"

Coach Marlene,"It is a fun experience for all of the kids.It is always a well ran track meet where the emphasis is on having fun and doing your best.Every participant walks away with a ribbon and I think that should be the key element in any sporting competion geared toward children participants!"

Fun In The Sun!

July 9th,2003

Every year the Cheetahs travel to Grand Blanc to participate in their Youth Track & Field Meet and every year the results are the same..A lot of great fun! They sure know how to put on a great track meet in that city. What's really great about Grand Blanc is that they open up the races to the younger children which really helps the Cheetahs because we start training the kids at age 4 so this gives them a place to go and participate.Good job Grand Blanc!

The Cheetahs did really well at Grand Blanc. All of the atheletes left with high spirits and well satisfied that they had done their best. Our main goal is not to win races but to improve upon our times. The weather conditions were prime and the atheletes did a really good job at improving on their individual times.Great job Cheetahs! This year Grand Blanc decided to hold their meet right before the Hershey's State Finals which gave us sort of a warm up before that meet.We also had the opportunity to meet many of the Grand Blanc and Oxford Track atheletes that we would be competing against at the State Finals that upcoming Friday in Howell.

As usual, after the track meet we head to our favorite restuarant.McDonalds.There the atheletes recap the days events and discuss amoungst themselves the upcoming meets that they will be competing in.Our favorite Mickie Dee's is the one outside Burton off I-69.The staff are really friendly there and they give good, quick service. The trip back was pretty quick being that Grand Blanc is only one hour away. The kids had the opportunity to go over more about the upcoming state finals.

When asked what she liked most about Grand Blanc,Kayshea said,"They don't compare the times in the individual heats and everybody gets to go home with a ribbon".Kevin says,"I like how it is organized and how the Grand Blanc meet can bring so many kids from the surrounding areas there to compete in a friendly environment".Sean says,"At Grand Blanc I felt happy and nervous. It was really cool that I ran with an older kid in the 400 meters and I was really hungry". Shantae had this to say about Grand Blanc,"I liked to run in Grand Blanc. It was fun running with all of the other people".
