Here is some info for all of you graffiti and art lovers.... Hello, my name is Flash and I am the Funk Finder for The Wallflower Gallery, we are a local art and music performance center in Downtown Miami. We host a wide range of cultural art presentations including art exhibits, poetry night, independent film expos, some dance, small scale production theather and a broad selection of musical showcases. We are planning to host a graffiti style art exhibition in late August and we are looking for artists to submit canvas works as well as furniture pieces for this show. Space is limited for this exhibition, but we do have a store for local art and music and we are very open to working with people in this format as well. If you or any other artist would like to get involved in this event, please contact me, so we can go over your portfolio and see how we can work together. I am looking for artists who can transcend the typical lettering techniques and really work out the creative elements within their pieces. The show is set to open in early September and I need to get the promotions out there, so I need to have people coming by as soon as possible - appointments are good to set, this way I have time to go over portfolios and get to know the artists a bit. Space is limited for this exhibition, but I would like to find various ways in which we can work to help the artists get recognition and be able to display their work and unique qualities. We can do slide shows with musical performances or have artists make cards, t-shirts, stickers and other items to get their images and names out there through our store and our distribution network (still in a building process - but all part of the plan). The Wallflower Gallery is very different from most of the typical art spaces - it's more interactive and flows with a different sense of movement and purpose. It is a very relaxing place as well, so you may just want to come by and check it out and see what you can see.
