Marlana and I are online friends. We met due to our mutual love for Hanson and the fact we live in the same city.
When we decided to go to the September 28.2000 concert together, we decided my Mom and I would go get the tickets. The tickets went on sale at 5:00. My Mom and I got to ticket master at 4:30. We were third in line. When we got up to the counter, the people informed my Mom that they don't take Discover card. As she was looking for another credit card, the concert sold out. I proceeded to burst into tears right then and there.Yup,I'm a teenie.Luckily,we managed to get tickets on-line, so we could still go.
On the day of the concert, I got up at noon {I'm home-schooled},and spent three hours getting ready.Then,my Mom and I went to get Marlana from school. We then went back to my Aunt Michele's house where we killed time with my sister and my cousin Trent {who says "thank you" for calling him adorable,Mar}.We left for Detroit at 3:30 and got there at 4;15.It was pretty cold out, so we my mom,Marlana and I along with some friends Kelli,and Katie,{we met them in line.Hanson fans rock} huddled together and talked. Marlana went to go meet M2M,and after she got back, we went into the State Theater, where we chatted with other fans until the show started.
The show started with the stage hands pulling a tarp of something on stage.Marlana asked me what it was."Oh my,oh my, oh my Lord, it's Zac's drums!"I screamed and then nearly started hyperventilating.
The concert fully rocked.
The highlights were::
1::me turning to my Mom, and saying "They're playing my favorite song."To which she repied,"Oh,Runaway Run?I like this song too."and the moment of shock afterward.
2::They played River.It was way cute.
3::During Thinking of You and Can't Stop, every time they sang "thinking of you"the whole crowd pointed to them
4::They played a new song, called I Don't Know
5::Isaac singing More Than Anything, and me and my Mom crying together.
6::During This Time Around, the whole crowd waving their arms in sync during the verses, and then jumping in sync during the chorus. It was almost like we practiced it.
7::my Mom dancing.and singing with me during MMMBop.
8::My Mom being a spaz during Sunshine of Your Love
9::the frenzy during I. Want You To Want Me.
10::Isaac saying "Detroit rocks. It's one of our favorite places to play," and actually meaning it.
After the concert, my Mom and I went outside while Marlana got her merchandise have low blood sugar, and was feeling sick}. We ended up getting free pictures of the band and seeing a guy get thrown out of the theater.
And then we went home.
I say that as my first and only concert, this show was definitely one of the highlights of my life. It was so much fun, and the boys put on an amazing show.
