Cutting the barrel to length. (this one is going to be 16 1/4")

Whatever you cut off the barrel take the same amount off the shroud

Barrel cut to length  

Chamfered and inverse crowned

Squaring the ends and trimming to length

Welded back together

Ready for parkerizing. This shroud had pitting the full length. So it didn't matter where it was cut. I usually try to cut out the section that's is  in the worst shape
