The original team was formed and, with the exception of Robotman, perished before the cataclysmic Crisis on Infinite Earths. The latest team consist of the original members and a group of superpowered teens that were slaves of the vampire Crucifer. Apparently the original team were resurrected by a twist in the space-time continuum.
