This photo was takn probably just before or just after the Lincoln County War. Their clothing seems to indicate that the weather of the time was cold, placing the time of the photo in either late fall or early winter. Others believe the man on the right is not Brown, but John Middleton.

This is another photo of Waite and Brown. Seeing as how there are two known photos of them together, it indicates they were good friends. Obviously, this photo was not taken at the same time as the above photo. This one appears to have been taken after the above one.
