is the name of Mike's website, but he calls himself a citizen of the world.Much-travelled, he lives and works in Europe, but his long career in its latter stages-- as with mine-- has taken second place to his passion for wildlife. |
I first saw Mike in rough bush country in the Selinda Reserve, Botswana. He was holding a huge camera lens in the front passenger seat of a safari vehicle which was looking for leopard. We were looking for lion, but had managed to spike three tyres in rapid succession, had no spares left and were immobilised. Mike's vehicle had come to lend us a wheel. While we did not speak to each other, the occasion was memorable enough for us to renew our 'acquaintance' when we encountered each other via the internet two or three years later. |
Mike's photography is not just about African wildlife. Other regions draw him, too. This collection, chosen by me, includes photographs taken in the Pantanal, Brazil. |
