ZACHERY TY BRYAN

Zachery Ty Bryan was born on October 15, 1981 in Colorado.

In 1991, Bryan was cast as Brad Taylor, the oldest son on the ABC sitcom "Home Improvement". Being chosen for the show would completely change the young actor's life, who at the time was only 9 years old.

Being on "Home Improvement" sparked a movie career for Bryan, who during the summer of 1993 made Magic Island, a Disney film. Magic Island was released to video he following year. While it was his first major feature film, Bryan had appeared in the television movies Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter (1994) and Crash: The Mystery of Flight 1501 (1990) before Magic Island. In the summer of 1995, Bryan made First Kid, a Disney comedy, playing the role of a school bully. First Kid, co-starring Sinbad, was released to theaters in the fall of 1996. In the summer of 1996, he worked onthe Orion Films picture True Heart with Kirsten Dunst and August Schellenberg. The film's release was delayed due to Orion's financial problems. It was recently released to video, despite its original intention to be a theatrically released film.

On his 1997 break, Bryan filmed Principal Takes a Holiday, a television movie for The Wonderful World of Disney. The comedy co-starring Kevin Nealon, premiered on January 4, 1998.

Bryan gained notoriety on "Home Improvement." In the show's eighth season, with his popular young co-star Jonathan Taylor Thomas taking time off for his schoolwork, Bryan received more screen time and shined with his impressive acting efforts.

The real Bryan is a soccer star like his character Brad Taylor. He has played on a number of award-winning travelling soccer teams and in 1993, he hosted the ESPN instructional video "Let's Play Soccer." In May of 1999, Bryan appeared on the ABC television special "The Story of Fathers & Sons". Zachery's other television appearances include guest roles in "Soul Man" and "Teen Angel"/

For his future, Zachery has a two-film deal with Disney. Other upcoming projects include Held for Ransom, a thriller film from author Lois Duncan (the writer of I Know What You Did Last Summer and Killing Mr. Griffin), and Rustin a little less-than-stellar film that coincidentally co-starred Meat Loaf. Zach's most recent major film appearance was in 1999's horror sequel The Rage: Carrie 2 which is now on VHS and DVD.

Most recently, Zach has made guest appearances on "ER" (2001) and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (2002), in addition to a recurring role of a school bully in first season episodes of FOX's comedy/drama "Boston Public".

061 / 3.12 - 'Twas the Blight Before Christmas

It's Christmas time and Tim wants to win the Christmas lighting contest which Doc Johnson has won for the last nine years. He doesn't understand why everytime he puts something up on the roof, Doc has already done it right before him. He finds out that Randy has been talking to Doc's granddaughter and she pumped him for information. Brad wants to spend Christmas skiing with Tom Wheeler's family but, because it is on Christmas Day, Tim and Jill won't let him go. When all the family except Brad are at church, Tim walks home to talk to Brad and finds him on his way to go skiing.

082 / 4.08 - Quibbling Siblings

Jill tries to explain to Tim that middle son Randy's scrapping with his brothers is really a bid for his share of Tim's attention, which the boy feels he is definitely not getting. This is made worse when Brad is made Tim's assistant when Al can't make it. Brad is very nervous around Heidi as he has a crush on her.

Brad takes on an early-morning newspaper route after assuring Jill that his school work won't suffer. He finds it harder and harder to get up in the morning, and starts falling asleep whilst doing his homework, but is afraid to quit the job and disappoint Tim.

Brad and Tim get into an altercation over both Brad's new haircut and what type of engine to put into the hot rod. Randy gets a part in Romeo and Juliet and is less than enthusiastic over Jill's offer to help him rehearse.

Tim finds a bag of marijuana hidden in the backyard when doing a segment for Tool Time. Rather than confronting the boys to see who it belongs to, Tim and Jill hide over at Wilson's all night and find out that it is Brad's. Tim and Jill try to talk with Brad, and then they recall Jill's experiments with drugs and warn Brad of the dangers.

155 / 7.04 - Pump You Up

After Brad gets a soccer scholarship, Tim begins to push him too hard. Randy and Lauren want to go out on another date... but they don't particularly want to double date with a couple of friends, Jill saves the day by "offering" to come along on the date. The K&B Construction guys make an appearance on the show... and Mark rebels further by deciding to wear only dark clothes and paint his nails.

180 / 8.04 - Taylor Got Game

Brad is worried about his SATs and is also faced with the tough decision of whether to accept an offer to play professional soccer in Europe.

189 / 8.13 - Chop Shop 'Til You Drop

Tim and Jill agree it's time for Brad to get his own car, so they buy him a used car. But, it is soon stolen and stripped. Tim and Al decide to go undercover and check out a used-parts store to see if they can crack the case of car theives.

191 / 8.15 - Knee Deep

When a faulty pipe leaks and damages the main staircase of the house, Tim decides to do a "Tool Time" segment to fix it. While they are filming the show, Brad falls down the stairs and seriously injures his knee. He learns he'll need an operation and he begins to worry about his soccer career. He is very angry at Tim and blames him for ruining his life. Meanwhile, magicians Penn and Teller show Tim some new tricks on "Tool Time."

199 / 8.23 - Trouble-a-Bruin

Troubles brew on Tool Time when Bud mandates that no non-Binford products are to be used on the show. Brad has to decide whether or not to play soccer earlier than he is scheduled to when he has an opportunity to play for a UCLA soccer coach/scout.
