Each Year the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Michigan holds a water test at the Highland Dam in Highland Michigan. This test is sponsored by The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America Inc. and is hosted by our Michigan Club. Membership with the GSP Club of America is required to enter this test.

The German Shorthaired Pointer is an versatile breed with a water repellent coat and webbed feet it retrieves well from water and is an excellent swimmer. Come out and join us at our 2015 Water Test and see what this Breed can do. We hope to see you there.


Note: This test is open to German Shorthaired Pointers with an AKC Number, a AKC Limited Registration Number or an ILP number. Your German Shorthaired Pointer must be six months of age on the day of the test to compete.



Three titles can be achieved through water testing:


  • Novice Retrieving Dog (NRD) - Entry Fee is $35.00

  • Retrieving Dog (RD) - Entry Fee is $40.0

  • Retrieving Dog Excellent (RDX) - Entry Fee is $40.00

Rosettes will be awarded to all qualifiers.
