Our club was established to....
Encourage and promote the breeding of Pure Bred German Shorthaired Pointers and do everything possible to bring their natural abilities to perfection. Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which German Shorthaired Pointers shall be Judged. To do our best to protect and advance the breed by encouraging Sportsman-like-competition at Dog Shows, Field Trials, Hunting Tests and Obedience Trials.
We invite your inquiries regarding our versatile dogs. Our dogs excel in Conformation, Hunting, Hunting Tests, Field Trials and Obedience. To quote for the AKC Publication. It is indeed rare to find wrapped up in one package a staunchly pointing bird dog, a keen-nosed night trailer, a proven duck dog, a natural retriever on land and water, pleasing conformation and markings, great power of endurance and an intelligent family watchdog and companion.
Indicative of this dog’s versatility is it’s successful work on pheasants, quail, grouse, woodcock and rabbits. With a water repellent coat and webbed feet, it retrieves well from rough terrain or icy water. Our Club holds monthly meetings the third Thursday of each month, in which various topics of interest to the club and it’s members are discussed, including events.
A Monthly newsletter is published to communicate club activities. We sponsor Spring and Fall Field Trials. Spring and Fall Hunting Tests. A Specialty Show and Sweepstakes. Fun Field Trials and Fun Hunting Tests. A Walking Field Trial and a Water Test, a Family Picnic and a Awards Banquet, in addition to other activities geared to promoting the German Shorthaired Pointer Breed.
