The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Michigan was founded in 1941, making it one of the oldest German Shorthaired Pointer Clubs in the United States. From its founding our club has held dog shows, walking field trials, horses back field trials, and fun events.
In 1985 our club was the first dog club in Michigan to hold an AKC Hunt Test. The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Michigan also holds a German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America water test each year along with our club picnic, in July.
In early spring the club holds an awards banquet, where dogs receiving a certificate of accomplishment during the previous year, are honored. The GSPC of Michigan's dues are $30 a year. Our members are from all walks of life, our dogs are of all ages, and abilities, and our members all share in the love of and respect for the German Shorthaired Pointer.
