Sand dunes can be found in numerous locations along the eastern (leeward) shore of Lake Michigan. The first photo on this page was taken while I was standing on the top of a large sand dune at Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan. This photo was taken during June of 1999. I took the second photo while I was standing at the bottom of a large sand dune at Indiana Dunes State Park and National Lakeshore. This photo was taken during May of 2001.
