LITTLE JIMMY DICKENS


Born James Cecil Dickens, December 19, 1920 in Bolt West Virginia Died January 2, 2015 Nashville Tenn.

A popular Grand Ole Opry entertainer Little Jimmy Dickens was also inducted into the

CMA Country Music Hall of Fame
in Nashville, Tennesee.

Little Jimmy Dickens does not forget his roots and some of these relate to the time he spent in Michigan. Little Jimmy began his career Beckly West Virginia where as a youth he met and played in the same band as Casey Clark, a well known Michigan country music performer. As his career grew Little Jimmy Dickens moved around the country from radio station to radio station. This is how he spent a year in Saginaw, Michigan playing for Radio Station WKNX, before moving on and making it big on the Grand Ole Opry.

Little Jimmy Dickens was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980.
