Cylde Vaughn grew up on a cotton farm in West Tennessee and country music has
always been one of his great loves. In 1953, the family moved to Flint, and by the time
Clyde was 15 he formed his first band called The Starlite Ranch Boys.
In 1958 Clyde was given the title of "Mr. Country Music of Saginaw Valley."
His immediate family formed a gospel group called The Vaughns which
has been singing together for nearly 30 years.
On September 7, 1996, Clyde was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame.
