"Survivor Review" is a private fan site and is no way affiliated with CBS or Mark Burnett Productions.  Many of the pictures and graphics are taken from the official CBS "Survivor: Pearl islands" website, as well as other sites, such as "CBS Early Show".  This site's intent is not to infringe on any copyrighted or trademarked material, only to review and speculate on a TV series which has captured our imaginations.

We begin Episode 8 (entitled "Shocking, Incredibly Shocking") with Day 22.
It's dawn as Rupert and Lil rise early to get the camp functioning.  Fires to
be stoked, wood to be gathered, etc.  Everybody else sleeps in.  Lil is very
happy with her new tribe.  She actually feels appreciated.  She confides in
Rupert how bad she felt about voting off Andrew.  Rupert assures her that
she did right, and he will choose to keep her around longer than some of the
Drakes.  He tells her that she has the heart of a lion.  Atta-Boy, Rupert!

When RyanO finally gets off his back, he feels differently.  Lil betrayed Der
Fuhrer!  He knows he is next on the chopping block.  RyanO tries schmooz-
ing Burton, to see if he is game for forming an alliance to get rid of Rupert.
Burton shows some interest, and tells Uncle Cameraman that he is out to
win this for himself, and, of course, for the Outcasts, too.  Yeah, Right!  He
and RyanO go fishing and Burton snags an electric stingray.  It gives him
a shock as he gets it off the spear tip.  Much is made of it, though the cam-
era also shows the sack of fish Rupert caught.  Rupert feels happy feeding
everyone, even the ex-Morgans.

Reward Challenge Time!  It's a variation of the Slingshot-break-the-dishes
Game.  Each contestant has a scale ship's mast with three plates attached
to pivoting poles.  Opposite each dish is a torch.  Break the dish and the
torch swings up to the next level of the mast.  Breaking the third dish puts
it's torch to a fuse which then ignites and lights up the crow's next on the
very top of the mast.  First to break all dishes and ignite their mast wins.
Breaking a dish out of turn gets you a disqualification.  The prize is break-
fast for two and a day away from The Game.

The 1st Round is in three parts, each with three contestants.  RyanO beats
Sandra and Darrah.  In the next heat, Jon is disqualified as he bungles again
and Rupert defeats Burton.  In the last heat, Lil beats Christa and Tijuana.
The Final Round begins with Lil scoring twice in a row.  Then, Rupert, Our
Hero, comes from behind and wins.  Jeff explains to Rupert that he can take
a guest, or, he can pass the reward to someone else and let them pick a
guest.  Burton and Jon chirp-up for Rupert to pass the reward.  Rupert, who
doesn't want to offend anyone (and is eating fine of the land, thank you very
much), opts to pass the reward to Burton since he had given him immunity
the day before.  Jeff tells Burton that he can choose anyone except Rupert,
since he gave up the reward.  Rupert suggests (more like commands) that
Burton chooses Lil, which Burton does.

Day 23 and a boat comes and whisks Burton and Lil to a sand-spit with a
tent.  Inside the tent is all manner of breakfast foods and treats.  Bacon,
eggs, sausages, ham, hash browns, pastries, OJ, apple juice, and a bottle
of champagne.  Lil passes on the bubbly and they immediately begin their
feast, and discuss game strategy.  Burton tells Lil that they need to get rid
of Rupert or Christa ASAP.  He has Jon in his pocket and wants to know if
Lil can secure the ex-Morgan voting block.  She says she will try but has a
hard time lying.  Meanwhile, back at camp.  Christa and Sandra consider
booting Rupert and Burton by forming an all-girl voting block.  They start
work on gaining Tijuana's and Darrah's confidence.

Day 24 and it's time for the Immunity Challenge.  Again, we have a variation
of the Survivor Trivia/Pecking Order game.  Each player stands by a rack
which can hold five coconuts.  With each right answer, players place a coco-
nut in another's rack.  Get five and you're out.  This game in the past few
season's reveals the pecking order for who gets booted.  RyanO gets blown
away first.  Hmmmmm!  Darrah goes next, followed by Tijuana and Burton.
Jon, Lil, and Sandra then get booted.  Christa has four coconuts to Rupert's
two and he gets the next question right.  Rupert wins immunity!

Now, the fun begins.  Everyone cliques about from one group to another
discussing tonight's boot.  Christa tells Jon she still doesn't trust Burton
and wants him out.  Jon says that RyanO is the least trustworthy and needs
to go.  Rupert sees RyanO as new leader of The Weak Ones.  RyanO talks
with T & D about going after Christa.  Christa complains to Rupert about
how lazy the ex-Morgans are.  Rupert and Jon go to fetch water, Jon carry-
ing one canteen, Rupert, eight.  Rupert tells Jon don't betray him or he'll
kill him.  LOL!

Tribal Council has Lil discussing how happy she is with her new tribe, again.
Christa complains to Jeff about the lazy Morgans.  Darrah answers this
charge with how they would sit around and have fun and when they needed
firewood, they would all go out and get two days worth.  She thinks the
Drake method on daily foraging is a waste.  This is probably why the Morgan
tribe is so emaciated.  Rupert chimes in that before we criticize others, we
should look hard at ourselves.  Even he feels that he is not doing all he can.
What a guy!  Burton tells Jeff that he feels more trusting of his ex-Drakes.
Enough of this dribble, Jeff tells them its time to vote.  RyanO votes to give
Christa the boot.  Everybody else votes against him.  Including Tijuana and
Darrah!  Wow!  Jeff snuffs out RyanO's torch and as RyanO takes his walk
of shame, Jeff reminds the rest that they just voted off their first juror.  All
of their actions now take on new significance.

SPOILERS:  Rupert sees a shark while fishing and desires to catch it.  There
is more talk of mutiny, meaning that a revolt against Rupert may be taking
shape.  Could this be the end for our hero???  Tune in next week.
