Mud and Guts
by Andy Zarowny

We begin Day 34 with Adam and Parvati acting slap happy over the demise
of Jonathan.  They pulled off a minor coup in getting him booted.  Now they
plot to find cracks with the Aitu Four alliance.  Tree mail arrives informing
all to bring their swim trunks and be ready for lots of mud.  Everyone spec-
ulates that they will have a mud wrestling tournament.

The Reward Challenge does involve a mud pit, but not for wrestling.  Instead,
each player must cover themselves in mud and scrape it off into a bucket.
The top three by weight after ten minutes win reward, a trip to a spa.  The
top winner gets to select a loser for Exile Island.  The pit itself is fenced in,
providing an obstacle to be achieved.  Players may not carry mud in hands
nor in any pockets.  So the event gets dirty really fast as everyone tries
their best to coat themselves thoroughly in the mud.  Some try techniques
such as loading extra mud in their hair, on the backs on necks , backs, or
for the ladies  -  on their breasts.  Woohoo!  Ozzy seems to be the most suc-
cessful as his bucket is clearly filled to the top after ten minutes.  Jeff then
weighs each.  Ozzy finished with 45 lb.s, Parvati 24 lb.s, Yul 22.5 lb.s, Adam
22 lb.s, and Sundra and Becky with 20 lb.s each.  Ozzy selects Adam to be
exiled.  Sundra and Becky return to camp while the rest board an airplane
to fly to the spa resort.

Once back at camp, Sundra and Becky scramble to prepare as a rain storm
hits.  They mull over their situation and the fact that Ozzy is far too good as
a competitor.  They question keeping him around.  Meanwhile, our happy
winners arrive at the spa.  First they shower, then on to a massage, complete
with coconut milk rubs.  Boy, I sure would enjoy one of those!  Over at Exile
Island, Adam eats some raw clams and broods over his circumstances.  The
rain storm hits there, forcing him to seek shelter under the wrecked boat on
the beach.  It also starts raining at the resort, but effects our happy winners
very little.  They are feasting on food and alcohol as the power goes out.
Next on the menu is entertainment in the form of native dancers and musi-
cians.  The affair now has added ambience of being lit by candle light.  The
night is completed with more drinks and frolicking in a hot tub.  Parvati is
flirting with Ozzy and Yul, hoping to gain their favor.

Day 36 (apparently Day 35 was rained out, LOL!) and the spa gang returns
to camp.  Yul suspects discontent from Sundra and Becky.  Becky discusses
with Yul about booting Ozzy first chance they get.  Yul agrees that Ozzy is
a major threat and it would be foolish to go against him in the Final Two.
Sundra joins in the conversation and adds that Parvati seems more of a
threat than Adam.  She's competitive and her constant flirting is a factor.

Immunity Challenge time and the goal this episode is to carry four bundles
of large puzzle pieces over a set of balance beams, one at a time.  After all
four are carried to a work station, the puzzle is assembled into a table maze.
First to get two small cannon balls through the maze to corner pockets win.
Once again, Ozzy blows away the competition.  Yul tries to close the gap
and actually does begin assembling his table-maze, but by this time (about
24 minutes into the challenge) Ozzy scores his two cannon balls and wins
immunity again.

Back at camp, Adam chats up Yul, seeking protection from his Godfather.
Yul agrees that he'd prefer Parvati being booted.  Parvati then approaches
Yul, also seeking a blessing from the Godfather.  But Yul lets her know that
he considers her a bigger threat than Adam.  This then sets into motion a
plan by Adam and Parvati to get Ozzy to flip and boot Sundra.  Yul notices
the conversation and breaks it up, scolding Adam for instigating it.  Yul,
feeling pleased with himself, decides to be charitable and tells the others
he's taking Jonathan's lucky hat to Tribal Council.  He wonders if Jeff will be
mad at him?

At Tribal Council, Jonathan gets his hat back and Jeff considers if Yul's
move was an act of kindness or a strategy?  Parvati thinks it is all strategy
in a vain attempt to win favor with The Jury.  Adam agrees with her.  Yul
defends his motives, he was just being considerate to Jonathan.  Next on
the topic list is the spa trip.  Parvati says that she enjoyed bonding with Yul
and Ozzy.  Adam feels like he's on the bottom of the totem pole.  Yul agrees
with Adam that Ozzy has been the key to the success of the Aitu Four and
that they are a tight team.  It's time to vote.  Adam and Parvati vote to boot
Sundra, the Aitu Four send Parvati packing.

SPOILERS:  The Final Five battle it out on Sunday's Survivor Finale Special.
Rumor has it that The Jury will have to choose from a Final Three instead
of the usual Final Two.
