Breeding Groups

Best laid plans of mice and men.....I had planned to cut back on breeding this year. Really was going to breed only three ewes...well, maybe four...okay no more than five. Yet here I am breeding all seven mature ewes.

Romyldale Roanoke (moorit katmoget) did so well when bred to Underhill Ethel (moorit) and Romyldale Calais (moonspotted mioget/moorit) last year that I decided to do a repeat. He will also be paired with Romyldale Dresden (emsket) as I am hoping he will add his lock length, crimp and finer fiber to Dresden's rich color.

Romyldale Hawthorn (black) will be bred to Romyldale Dolly Parton and Romyldale Atlanta (both are white). This little ram didn't stand out at first, but he gradually won me over during the summer and fall months. I will be very interested in seeing what he produces with these two girls next spring.

Lugthart Tamarack (fawn katmoget) was a lucky find! This mellow little guy has just the attributes my breeding program is in need of (mainly correct tail length without excess wooliness). He has uniformity of crimp that I have learned to expect from the UK lines. He gets my woolier tailed ladies, Romyldale Savannah (fawn) and Romyldale Patsy Cline (white).

If you are interested in any of these pairings, please contact me to reserve a lamb at 231-768-5203 or at the email address linked below.
