Wicca,
probably the most well known and well accepted form of modern day paganism
(though Wicca and Paganism are not synonymous at all), was founded somewhere around
the year 1955 by an Englishman named Gerald Gardner. Contrary to what most Wiccans
will tell you, the Wiccan religion is not thousands of years old, and it is not the same
religion practiced by ancient peoples of ancient lands. Wicca is a New Age form of
religion based very loosly around ideas supposedly taken from ancient Celts, Norse,
and who knows who else. Very white-lighty, the Wiccan motto is basically to do what
you wish as long as it harms no one...so you can see how much fun this crew is. Many
Wiccans focus on Goddess worship and other such nonesense, but they are worth reading
up on if for no other reason then to know their sillyness in all it's splendor.
The Triskele Celtic/Ecletic tradition is one that was brought to my attention quite recently. I need to do some more research into it, and then it'll get a full blown "PsyVampyr" review.
Druidry is yet another pagan tradition that will be reviewed on this site.
