Take-Two Interactive Software has announced the formation of a new internal video game label, Rockstar Games (Country/Western Singer Games was apparently already spoken for). To be masterminded by Sam Houser, VP of worldwide development, the label will house an unnamed elite team of talent that will redefine the video game industry.

Rockstar will focus on the publication of the best of Take-Two's console line-up, effectively positioning themselves at the forefront of worldwide youth culture. And you know how those youths love rock n' roll. We'll be twistin' again like we did last summer, baby. Oh, sorry, enough smarmy comments and back to the story.

"We have attentively hand picked an elite team from the entertainment industry, including producers from the world of music video, commercials, record label owners, night club promoters, and melded them with the cream of the new wave of interactive industry talent," commented Houser while playing his air-guitar. "At Rockstar, we want to change the way the media looks at the game industry and give it some personality, which has been noticeable by its absence until now."

Really putting the final nail in this news-bite coffin, Rockstar has not announced its 1999 release schedule, but will soon
