Architects, mathemeticians, and those who enjoy dreaming of strangely shaped blocks all night, rejoice! There's a new Tetris game coming to your N64 on April 26th, and it's called Tetris 64.
Single and mutiplayer modes will include Marathon, Sprint, and Ultra. Marathon goes on until someone drops from dehydration. Sprint gives players only three minutes to clear as many lines as possible. Scoring on Ultra depends on how many lines players can clear per minute. Best of all, 4-players can compete simultaneously, trying to screw each other over.
Also new in this version is a feature that makes you feel you're not wasting your life stacking lines. In Tetris 64, by scoring a preset number of lines, you can build 3-D replicas of various Wonders of the World. Each Wonder will cost twice the lines as the one before. "Shut up, Ma! I'm putting the topstone on the pyramid of Cheops!" This story is courtesy of those information hold-outs over at Nintendo Power.
