Midway has issued a press release in response to the GT Interactive lawsuit and announcement filed the other day. Here's what Midway had to say:

"Midway expressed its disappointment with GT Interactive's attempt to blame Midway for GT Interactive's own business failures and shortcomings. Indeed, Midway had previously notified GT Interactive of GT Interactive's failure to perform under the parties' agreements. Midway promised a vigorous defense of GT Interactive's allegations and indicated that Midway would be filing substantial counterclaims against GT Interactive."

So there you have it. It seems pretty serious, with Midway responding in third-person and all. Watch for more classic psyche-out moves (like the old "yes you did, no I didn't") as GT and Midway continue to butt heads.
