LEGO Media International has announced its 1999 software lineup, part of which will contain console games for the PlayStation and Nintendo 64. Let's take a look at these upcoming titles:

LEGO Racers

Although racing games are a dime a dozen these days, LEGO hopes to send LEGO Racers to the top of the charts. Players can cusomize their own LEGO racers and drivers, then challenge others to races in locales based on different LEGO play themes: Castle, Town, Space, and Adventurers. Beat the different bosses you race against to get new parts to build cars out of. Multitudes of power-ups are available, adding even more excitement and action to the game. Secret paths, hidden shortcuts, and more add extra play value to this title as well. LEGO Racers is scheduled to come out in July, for both the Nintendo 64 and the PlayStation.

LEGO Rock Raiders

Based on the new Rock Raiders theme in the LEGO world, this action/strategy title puts you on an uncharted planet. As you create a base, collect energy crystals, chart the wilderness, and gather LEGO ore to build new vehicles, protect your team from the menacing Rock Monsters and stay alive! Multiple viewpoints, including overhead, first- and third-person are available, allow players to see and participate in the action in many differnt ways. LEGO Rock Raiders is expected to release in September for the PlayStation.
