GT Interactive has announced the release date of its upcoming and highly-anticipated PlayStation game, Driver. July 8 is the date for the release of the Starsky and Hutch-inspired game. This high-flying, no-holds-barred action game developed by Reflections puts you in the driver's seat of a car run by the mob. In an interview with Martin Edmonson, managing director of Reflections, (check out the full interview in the March issue of GI) Driver "was very much influenced by the classic car-chase movies and TV shows of the 70's: Bullitt, Starsky and Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard, Smokey and the Bandit, and many others." Sounds like quite a rush. Tail people. Run from the law. Cruise around.
