Fox To Have Puck N' Balls

01.21.99
Following the success of Fox Sports College Hoops '99, Fox Sports Interactive has announced the development of new sports titles for professional basketball, football, baseball, and hockey. Taking the bold risk that jai alai won't rage across the U.S. in the next year, the four new games are slated for release in 1999 and 2000.

Canada-based, Radical Entertainment, is to be the developer for the basketball and hockey (what a surprise) titles. FarSight Studios, last seen with NFL 98 on Sega Genesis, will tackle Football. For Baseball, a development team that had a hand in the Sega Sports' World Series Baseball games will team with your mom and apple pie.

Confident that the year 2000 is not to be the year of the apocalypse, Jon Richmond, President of Fox Interactive, said, "These partnerships signal Fox Sports Interactive's serious intent to be a top player in the sports gaming business. We're playing for keeps. We are combining the gaming industry's top talent with the vast resources of Fox and Fox Sports...to establish the next millennium's most powerful sports gaming franchises."
