Eidos Gets F1 Game

01.21.99
Eidos Interactive, publishers of the Tomb Raider series, has announced that it has signed a 3-year deal with Video System to allow Eidos to distribute a PlayStation and PC CD-ROM Formula One game based on the FIA Fomula One World Championship.

Developed by Lankhor, a game company that has won numerous "best game" awards, the game will feature 16 circuits from the 1998 season, complete with 11 different actual teams from the previous year's season data. The tracks are supposed to be modeled down to even the smallest detail -- like bumps on the track -- and many camera views, placed in true-to-reality Grand Prix circuit placements, are available. Realistic weather and detailed driver behavior are also included in the first game of this three-year deal. The first game to release under this agreement will be in spring for the PC. Although nothing has been announced for the PlayStation specifically, rest assured that there will be soon.
