EA Wants More Mistakes in Games

Hot on the heels of the hubbub over Tiger Woods '99 PGA Tour having an unauthorized South Park short on it, Electronic Arts has decided to include more mistakes on its future sports titles. Specifically, blooper outtake clips.

Prestigious trade magazine, MCV, reports that all future PlayStation CD-ROMs will be filled to capacity when there is extra space available. What better way to fill space than with wackiness? Madden 2000, for example, will have NFL Films outtakes hosted by Steve Sabol.

According to MCV, an unnamed spokesperson for EA said, "PlayStation disks need to be full in order to be properly burned, so we have to stick something on them. It might as well be content that pertains to the game."

However, when I questioned EA representatives about what these clips might be, the common response was, "Huh?"

True or not true, it still makes for interesting breakfast conversation. Try it with pancakes and a glass of milk.
