It's official. Ehrgeiz is coming to the U.S. PlayStation. Currently in U.S. arcades, Ehrgeiz is a multi-tiered fighting game from Square Soft and Namco. Developed by the Square subsidiary that also created Tobal 1 and 2, Dream Factory, Ehrgeiz has a number of characters including Cloud and Tifa from FF VII fame. The U.S. version will include the quest mode referred to as Godless the Dungeon. In the quest mode, two characters travel through a number of dungeons as they try to discover new techniques and moves, weapons and armor, and treasures and gold. Players will start the quest as Kouji's Masuda, a powerful fighter with a fist like steel. If he perishes under the player's control, Clair Andrews, a combo artist, jumps in to take Kouji's place. When Clair dies, a well-rested Kouji is ready to return.

Square EA will release Ehrgeiz for the U.S. PlayStation this May.
