Capcom & Ingram Shake Hands

Capcom Entertainment and Ingram Entertainment have come to an agreement which establishes Ingram as Capcom's master distributor. In this position, Ingram will not only increase the efficiency of Capcom's current distribution system, but expand it as well. This is the first time Capcom has aligned itself with one main distributor.

"Capcom and Ingram have shared a great relationship for the past nine years," said Robert Lindsey, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Capcom. "This partnership is a natural extension for both of us. This alliance will not only streamline our distribution but also improve efficiency for Capcom, and more importantly, for our customers."

What's Ingram's angle on this? "Ingram Entertainment has the infrastructure and resources that can benefit Capcom and nearly every other publisher," said Jeff Rouse, vice president of interactive media for Ingram Entertainment. "Capcom is the first, and we believe other publishers will follow once they see the advantages of making Ingram Entertainment their master distributor."

As it stands, Ingram Entertainment is a leading distributor of DVD hardware and software, audio books, previously viewed tapes, and used games. Their distribution system can reach 99% of the U.S. population in two days or less, and everybody else in three days. Overall, it looks like a win-win situation for Capcom.
